Dorset Car Club

Established in 1999

Dorset Car Club, established in 1999, is a vibrant community of car enthusiasts based on the south coast of England. It was born out of a desire by a group of friends to attend a classic car show in Romsey and has since grown into a well-known club for car lovers. The club’s name was inspired by a magazine titled ‘Dorset Wildlife’ that was on the organizer’s desk during its formation.

The club is inclusive and welcomes all sorts of vehicles, including American and British/European cars and vans, motorcycles, and even unique models like Sinclair C5s. Known for their display of flags, the club members share a great sense of humor and a deep love for their vehicles. They frequently participate in car shows and transport events, often featuring camping and caravan sites to enjoy all the entertainment, including time spent in beer tents. This creates a fun and communal atmosphere at the events they attend or organize.

The Dorset Car Club also holds monthly club meets on the third Thursday of every month at the Barley Mow in Long Lane, Wimbourne BH21 7AH from 7pm. These meets offer a ‘try before you buy’ experience, inviting anyone interested in cars or the club itself to join and experience the camaraderie.

In addition to their regular meets and participation in various shows, the club has a significant presence at the Wings & WheelsFacebook page
